Eyes are a precious gift given by god to us by which we can see the beautiful world. We cannot imagine our life without our eyes. Even a small problem in our eyes like puffy eyes, irritation, redness etc. makes us uncomfortable.

7 Natural home remedies for swollen eyes are:

1. Cucumber:

Cucumbers are loaded with flavonoids and antioxidants which makes it one of the most effective natural home remedy for puffy eyes. It helps to reduce irritation, redness and the swelling around your eyes and also gives a cooling sensation to your eyes. Thus to cure your swollen eyes, put cucumber slices over your eyes and leave it forĀ about 20-30 minutes. Then wash out with normal water.



2. Drink water:

Drink more water to keep your body hydrated as it assists to flush out toxins of your body and reduces the chance of swelling in your under eye area. Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water.




3. Potato:

Potato is a wonderful source of vitamin B and has anti-inflammatory property and thus it helps in reducing swelling around your eyes and also eases eye irritation. Place potato slices on your puffy eyes and leave it for about 15 minutes. To increase its effect cool the potato slices before placing it on your eyes. Repeat this 5-6 times in a day until you completely get rid of swollen eyes.



4. Cold water:

Wash your face several times with cold water. The chilliness of water will compress your blood vessels and decrease swelling. So rinse your eyes with many splashes of cold water in a day to get rid of swollen eyes.

5. Tea bags:

You can get rid of swollen eyes and its irritation by using black tea bags. They contain tannin, a natural astringent which helps to compress blood vessels and thereby reduces swelling. Dip two tea bags into hot water and then take them out and leave it to cool down. Now put these tea bags on your eyes for about 15-20 minutes. After this wash off your face.

6. Aloe Vera:

Take aloe Vera gel and then mix it with vitamin E oil. Apply it on your puffy eyes. Leave it for overnight. This will reduce swelling and cure infection in your eyes due to its anti-inflammatory and healing properties.

7. Cooled spoons:

Place two spoons in fridge for an overnight and then next morning put them on your puffy eyes. They will assist to constrict blood vessels and thus reduce swelling around your eyes.
